Titans | Após fotos vazadas, atriz que interpreta ‘Estelar’ responde comentários ofensivos

A atriz Anna Diop, que interpretará a Estelar na próxima série live-action da DC Comics Titans, se pronunciou em seu Instagram nesta quinta-feira (12) para se defender das ofensas em relação às fotos vazadas dos bastidores.

Diop lamenta por aquela ser a primeira foto divulgada, e afirma que a foto está fora de contexto, além de se defender das ofensas ao dizer que não se importa. Confira abaixo:

#Breezy ? To the ‘Titans’ fans: Yesterday a photo of me on set leaked online. And it was unfortunate because fans have been waiting MONTHS for a photo of ‘Starfire’ and a sloppy (?) photo of me on a curb in 15 degree weather is what they got instead ? For the sake of our incredible fans – I hated that this is the first picture people are seeing. It’s out of context and it’s a misrepresentation of the incredible character I get to play. And also a misrepresentation of the phenomenal production behind it all. With that said – the hate speech that followed was deplorable. And though I am highly unbothered ?? I do want to use this as an opportunity to say that tearing people down is not something that I tolerate. For myself or anyone else. Too often social media is abused by some who find refuge in the anonymity and detachment it provides: misused as a tool to harass, abuse, and spew hatred at others. This is weak, sad, and a direct reflection of the abuser. Racist, derogatory, and/or cruel comments have nothing to do with the person on the receiving end of that abuse. And because I know this – I’m unfazed 🙂 But for anyone out there who may not – I am here to remind you that whatever ugly and negative thing anyone ever chooses to say about you is always a reflection and revelation of themselves- it does NOT define you, and it certainly does NOT make you any less perfect than you are – Be you! Para os fãs de Titans:
Ontem uma foto minha no set vazou online. E foi uma pena porque os fãs estavam esperando MESES por uma foto de Estelar e uma foto desleixada de mim é o que eles conseguiram ao invés. Para o bem de nossos incríveis fãs eu digo que odiei o fato dessa ser a primeira foto que viram. Está fora do contexto e é uma deturpação do personagem incrível que eu tenho a chance de interpretar, além da produção fenomenal por trás de tudo.
Com isso dito – o discurso de ódio que se seguiu foi deplorável. E embora eu esteja completamente despreocupada, eu quero usar isso como uma oportunidade para dizer que destruir as pessoas não é algo que eu tolero. Para mim ou para qualquer outra pessoa. Diversas vezes a mídia social é abusada por alguns que encontram refúgio no anonimato e no desapego que ela oferece: mal usada como uma ferramenta para perseguir, abusar e destilar ódio contra os outros. Isso é fraco, triste e um reflexo direto do abusador.

Comentários racistas, depreciativos e / ou cruéis não têm nada a ver com a pessoa que recebe o abuso. Eu sei disso e é por isso que não me importo. Mas para qualquer um afetado por isso, eu estou aqui para lembrar que qualquer coisa feia e negativa que alguém escolha dizer sobre você é sempre uma reflexão e revelação deles próprios. Isso NÃO define você, e certamente não te faz menos perfeita.

Titans será lançada ainda este ano pela plataforma de streaming da DC Comics que a Warner Bros. pretende lançar em breve.
